RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A
GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TELECOMMUNICATIONS
INFRASTRUCTURE FUND BOARD (TIF) TO ENHANCE INTERNET
ACCESS AND COMPUTER RELATED SERVICES AT THE LIBRARY;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board has announced
the availability of approximately $7 million in non - competitive grants to enable all Texas
libraries to participate fully in the Library of Texas and TexShare projects; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to make an application for a library
project that will upgrade and improve the computer capabilities at the library.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to make an application to
the Telecommunications Infrastructure Board for a grant, including local matching
requirements, in the amount of $110,770 for computer enhancements at the library.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
