Ordinance No. 25-2015
Ordinance accepting and making an appropriation to the Special
Revenue Fund for the Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition
Grant in the amount of $40,000 received from the Department of
State Health Services and authorizing the City Manager to execute
contract accepting same
WHEREAS, Wichita County has a 20% smoking rate , which is higher than the
State and National averages; and,
WHEREAS the Health District and the Department of State Health Services
desire to enter into a contract for Tobacco Prevention and Coalition grant ; and,
WHEREAS, approval of these funds could not have been anticipated prior to the
adoption of the 2014 - 2015 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated in the Special Revenue Fund $40,000 for the
Tobacco Prevention and Control Coalition and , and the City Manager is authorized to
enter into a contract with the Department of State Health Services for the Wichita Falls -
Wichita County Public Health District.
