RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, DECLARING THE PROPERTY AT 508
VIRGINIA AS EXCESS REAL PROPERTY AND DIRECTING IT
TO BE SOLD BY PRIVATE SALE; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS
PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to reduce the inventory of real
property acquired from delinquent tax suits; and
WHEREAS, an individual has requested to purchase from the City that
certain property identified as Lot 12, Block 32, Barwise and Jalonick, also known
as 508 Virginia in Wichita Falls; and
WHEREAS, the individual requesting to purchase this parcel owns all
parcels adjacent to it; and
WHEREAS, the plans to improve this site and place it back on the tax roll
will be both beneficial to the citizens and the City of Wichita Falls; and
WHEREAS, this property has been identified as excess, and it is in the
public's best interest to return this parcel to private ownership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The real property identified as Lot 12, Block 32, Barwise and
Jalonick Addition in Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, also known as 508
Virginia, is declared as excess, and the Property Administrator is directed to sell
such property at a private sale to the owner of the adjacent property as allowed
by law.
SECTION 2. This property will be sold contingent upon verification of
legal description, ownership, and redemption date, provided the buyer has no
outstanding delinquent taxes or liens owed the City of Wichita Falls.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting
at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
