FLEAS, on the loth day of April, 1950, a majority of the resi-
dents of the hereinafter described territory qualified to vote for members
of the Legislature of the State of Texas under the provisions of Section 4
of the Charter of the City of 'Tichita Fells, Texas, adopted March 30, 1920,
and amendments thereto, filed their petition in writing praying that the
hereinafter described tract and parcel of land be annexed to and included
lrrithin the corporate Limits of the City of :ichita Falls, iichita County,
Texas, and showing facts authorizing the annexing of said territory to
said City and the inclusion thereof within the corporate limits of said
City; and
T,TE,HLAS said petition was duly heard at the regular meeting of
the Board of Aldermen on the 10th day of April, 1950, at which time said
petition was set do-von for public hearing before said Board of Aldermen
at the re -ular meeting of said Board on the 24th day of April, 1950, at
which time said public hearing was duly held and no adverse interest ap-
pearing the anne.-cation of said territory was approved and an ordinance
drawn to include the hereinafter described territory within the City
Limits of said City;

Section 1. That the follooti2ng described tract and parcel of
land situated in :iichita County, Texas, be, rnd the same is hereby now
ordered to be, annexed to and to be included within the said City of .Tichita
Falls, Texas, and that the corporate limits of said City be extended to in-
clude srid territory, more particularly described) as follows, to-wit:
Perlinning pit a point in t'De South lire of the North one-half of
the r,Torth*,Test one-fourth of J. /. Scott Survuy No. 18, said
point being 1975 feet ast of the West line of said Scott Survey*
o. 18.

Containing 1,-dthin these metes and bounds 40.1 acres of land
more or less.
Section 2. The fact that there now exists an urgent public need
for the preservation of peace, health and safety of residents of the above
described property constitutes an emergency. Therefore, the rules re-
quirin' ordinances to be read on three several days are hereby sus;ended.
