ORDINANCES CF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, 1941, ADOPTED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 1315 PASSED AND APPROVED ON JANUARY 6, 1941, AS
AMENDED BY ORDINANCE 1377 PASSED AND APPROVED DECEMER 29, 1943,
AND AS FURTHER AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1462 PASSED AND APPROVED
MAY 10, 1948, PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF ALL PUBLIC DANCE HALLS

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That Section 4-707 (427) of the Codification of Ordinances
of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, 1941, adopted by Ordinance No. 1315 passed
and approved on January .6, 1941, and as amended by Ordinance No. 1377 passed
and approved December 29, 1943, and as further amended by Ordinance No. 1462
passed and approved May 10, 1948, be and the same is hereby amended so as to
hereafter read as follows, to—vit:
"Section 4-707. All public dances shall be discontinued and all
public dance halls shall be closed from 1:00 otclock A.M. to 7:30
otclock P.M. on each day except Sundays; all public dances shall
be discontinued and all public dance halls s all be closed from

Section 2. The fact that the present closing time of dance hells within
the City limits of the City of Wichita Falls conflicts with the closing time
of dance halls in competition therewith, but situated outside the City limits,
and the fact that it is desirable to close said dance halls on Sunday nights,
creates an emergency, and the rule requiring that ordinances be read on three
separate days is hereby suspended and this ordinance is passed as an emer—
gency measure and shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval
and publication as provided by law.
