for the length of time and in the form required and rovi6ed for
by the City Charter and the law in force and effect in tl,-,e City

WHEREAS., bids were duly received, ?,?ere fully tabulated.,
canvassed. and considered and the bid of Stuckey" Construction
Company, Contractors of Wichita Falls, 'texas, was found- to be
the lowest and most advantageous and was accel,-,ted. by toie, City
of Wichita Falls Texas; and,
WHEFEAS, contract of even date herewith for the making
and construction of such im,provements is now on file with the
City and has been executed by Stuc-1key Construction Com-pany,
which said contract fully sets out and describes tl-re -,)ortions
of streets., avenues and public places to bo it ;

I.
Contract for t?je -("aking and construction of t )e street
improvements hereby,described tilerein be, and it is ereby, adopted

and approved.
The work of .raking akina and constructing suc'n improvements
and. the contract therefor is n_ereby awarded to Stuckev Construct-
ion Co-mpany, Which said contract is dated tulais date al'�'Id. is on
file witiri t'-ie City and has heretofore been executed by Stuclz-ley
Construction Company and the City Manager is .ereby authorized
and directed to execute same in the na.me of the City of Wichita.
Falls, Texas and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to
attest sane and to impress the corporate seal of the City t �_ereon.
III .
The Engineer for the Gity of Wichita. Falls, Texas be, and
he is hereby, ordered and directed to file with the r)ozrd of
Aldermen estimates of the cost of such improveraents in each
unit in accordance with the terms of the -Dowers and r,rovisions
of the Charter of the City of 1ichita Falls, Texas.
IV.
The present condition of said portions of streets, avenues
; and public places to be unproved endangers nealth and safety and
the improvement of sane constitutes an urgent ':�ubiic need for the
preservation of peace, health and safety of property- and it is
necessary t'--ia t said im-provements be constructed while the weather
will permit and the construction of said imNrovements is being
delayed pending the taking effect of thi_C ordinance, and such
fact constitutes and creates an emergency and an urgent public
i. necessity requiring that the rules providing for ordinances to
be read iaore than one time or at more than one _meeting or t -ia.t
the ordinance shall not go into effect until thirty (30) days
after itsoassage, be suspended and that this ordinance "e passed
is as and take effect as an emergency Leasure, and suciii rules are
accordingly sus��e_rlded and_ this ordinance is -oassed as and shall
take effect and be in force as an emergency l;teasure and shall be
in force and effect immediately fro:tr, a after its sage.
