Ord 1594 2/11/1952ORDINANCE NO. l -� AN ORD INANC E Al�aND ING ORDINANCE 110. 1539, SECTION 6, GRANT- ING TO WICHITA CITY LINES, INC., A TEXAS CORPORATION, AND ITS LAW- FUL SUCCESSORS, TILE RIGHT AND PRIVILEGE TO CHARGE A CASH FARE FOR ADULT PERSONS AND TO ISSUE TICKETS AND TOKENS FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN AND PRESCRIBING TIE TERHS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH RIGHTS, AND PRIVILEGES SHALL BE EXERCISED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS; SECTION 1. Wichita City Lines, Inc. of Wichita Falls, Texas, is auth- orized to charge a cash fare of 100 per each adult person for trans- porting such passenger during all regular operating hours on its buses operated within the corporate limits of said city. Wichita City Lines, Inc. is authorized at all times to charge a cash fare of 5¢ for transporting each child who is between the age of 5 years and 12 years during all regular bus operating hours on all of its buses operated within the corporate limits of said city. Wichita City Lines, Inc. is authorized at all times to charge a cash fare of 5¢ for each person who is between the ages of 12 years and 17 years and who is in actual attendance of any elementary, high school or any school or schools offering similar educational facilities that are situated within the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, for transporting such passenger on regular school days of any given week 14onday through Friday, inclusive, between the hours of 6 A.!,-L. and 6 P.,. , providing that a ticket good for 20 rides shall be sold for $1.00 to any student at his or her request upon the presentation of said student desiring to purchase same of writ- ten certificate of the Principal of the school which said student attends during the school months, showing that such student is not more than 17 years of age, is in regular attendance at said school and is within the grades herein provided, which token shall be ac- cepted by the bus operator in lieu of such cash fare, and the same shall be kept for sale by all drivers and operators on said buses and at such other places as may be designated by the said company. Said Wichita City Lines, Inc. shall issue in lieu thereof upon re- quest an identification card to those entitled thereto which shall entitle such school children to ride upon the payrlent of a 5¢ fare. Wichita City Lines, Inc. shall transport free children 5 years of age or less when attended by a fare paying passenger above said age, provided they do not occupy seats to the exclusion of fare paying passengers. The rates of fares provided for herein are for only one con- tinuous ride in one direction over any of the present or future routes of said Wichita City Lines, Inc. within the corporate limits of Wichita Falls, Texas, not covered by a special zone fare. The said Wichita City Lines, Inc. shall not be required to furnish any round trip passage over any route or routes for a single fare, or to transport any passenger by transfer from any point on its routes to another point in the same vicinity for a single fare. Wichita City Lines, Inc. may, subject to the approval of the City Council of Wichita Falls, Texas, make such reasonable regula- tions not inconsistent herewith or with other Ordinances or Resol- utions relating to such matters as may be necessary to prevent the misuse and abuse of transfers. Wichita City Lines, Inc. transport- ing paying passengers shall give free transfer under provisions now fixed or hereafter to be fixed by general Ordinance and Resolu- tion. All paying passengers shall be entitled to request, re- ceive and make use of free transfers under the conditions set forth by Ordinance or Resolution governing such transfers. Wichita City Lines, Inc. shall give no passes or free service to any person except to those engaged in the mainten- ance and operation of its buses and to policemen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, while they are dressed in the full offic- ial uniform of their office.
