RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS' INTENT TO
COMMIT THE NECESSARY FUNDING TO SECURE THE 2003 TEXAS
CITY MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE;
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Texas City Management Association has requested proposals
from Texas cities for the award of Host City designation for the 2003 annual conference;
and
WHEREAS, the conference would have a substantial impact on the economy of
Wichita Falls by attracting approximately 500 -700 participants to the city; and
WHEREAS, the selected host City must commit to funding approximately
$13,700 for the conference; and
WHEREAS, Hotel /Motel tax funds are eligible for this type of activity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of The City Of Wichita Falls to commit the necessary
funding from Hotel /Motel Tax funds to secure the 2003 Texas City Management
Association Annual Conference.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
