RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THREE FIRE STATIONS TO NORMAN R.
BRATCHER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY; FINDING AND
DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION
WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on August 17, 1999, City Council awarded the bid for the construction of
three fire stations to Norman R. Bratcher Construction (NRB) in the amount of
$2,524,799; and
WHEREAS, during the project, three change orders were executed for a total of
$14,251 and fourteen (14) additional days - $1,798 to upsize storm pipe at Station
No. 7; $4,437 to install a French drain at Station No. 5; and $8,016 to install
photoelectric eyes on all overhead station doors; and
WHEREAS, the Contractor was "substantially complete" by the contract deadline and
the Fire Department occupied the fire stations in late September, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the final contract amount is $2,539,050 of which $2,474,550 has previously
been paid; and
WHEREAS, the Fire Department and Architect recommend acceptance of the project
and final payment to NRB.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The Project for Construction of Three (3) Fire Stations is hereby
accepted from Norman R. Bratcher Construction Company and the City Manager is
hereby authorized to make final payment in the amount of $64,500.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
