AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF MORROW STREET
IN THE CITY OF IWICHITA FALLS, `ZCHITA COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM ITS
iNTERSECTION WITH ARDATH AVENUE TO ITS I1iiTERSECTION WITH VAN BUPEN
STREET AND ADJACE T TO AND LYING NORTH AND NEST OF BLOCK NO. THREE
(3) OF TFR. HARRISON ADDITION TO THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, -. CHI
COUNTY, TEXAS, TIM PORTION OF MOtRRO S TREET TO BE. CLOSED AND
ABANDONED HEREBY BEDIG MORE P,�RTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREAFTER BY
METES AND BOUNDS.
Texas; BE IT ORDAINED By the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls,
That the following described portion of Morrow Street lying and being
situated in the City of Wichita Falls in !,lihita Coturty, Texas, be and the same
is hereby closed and abandoned as a public street:
BtGF,NING at the Northeast corner of Block No. Three (3) of the Harrison
Addition to the City of Zalichita Falls in 'u7ichita County, Texas, according
to the recorded plat thereof of record in the Office of the County Clerk
of Wichita County, Texas, to which reference is here made for all purposes,
which is the Southwest point of the intersection of Morrow Street and Van
Buren Street in said addition and in said city, a stake;
THENCE North along the West boundary line of Van Buren Street to the
Northwest point of the intersection of Morrow Street and Van Buren Street
in said addition and in said city, approximately 40 feet, a stake;
THENCE in a Southwesterly direction along the North or Northwesterly
boundary line of Morrow Street to the intersection of said boundary line
with Ardath Avenue in said addition which is the Wiest point of the inter-
section of Morrow Street and Ardath Avenue in said addition and in said
city, a stake;
Ml a CE East along the North boundary lire of said Ardath Avenue to the
West corner of said Block No. Three (3) in said Harrison Addition, a
stake;
THENCE in a Northeasterly direction along the South or Southeasterly
boundary line of said Morrow Street and along the North or Northwesterly
boundary line of said Block No. Three (3) in said Harrison Addition to
the place of beginning.
This Ordinance is passed for the reason that said portion of Morrow Street
above described is no longer needed for public use; but all utility easements thereon
and thereunder are hereby in all things reperved t he Cityof :r
ichita Falls, Texas.

In re; Closing a part of Morrow Street
Gentlemen;
As owners of property and interest in prop-
erty abutting Morrow Street between Van Buren and
Harrison Streets in Wichita Falls Texas, we strongly
oppose the closing of this part of it.
On February 21, 1925, R.E. Huff, et al.,
owners of the land made a plat of Harrison Addi-
tion to the City ;I Wichita Falls, Texas, and dedi-
cated the streets and alleys as set out on plat to
the public. All lots in this Addition have been
sold from that time forward in reliance upon the dedi-
cation of streets and alleys, including Morrow Street.
We have acquired our property in reliance upon the
dedication of Morrow Street to public use. if the
city abandons such use completely the title to the
street will revert to the original owners, their heirs
and assigns. This will decrease the value of our
property and because we bought it upon reliance of the
dedication, we oppose the closing of any part of it.
