RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 AND AWARD BID
AND CONTRACT FOR THE 2001 STREET RESURFACING PROJECT;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids for the construction
of the 2001 Street Resurfacing Project; and
WHEREAS, it is found that the lowest, responsible bidder is Freeman
Construction who made a unit price bid with an estimated total of $629,282.35, and
WHEREAS, the unit bid price exceeds the available funds, and
WHEREAS, a Change Order of $11,408.46 is required to reduce the project to
the funding available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Said unit price bid of Freeman Construction and Change Order No.
1, with an estimated total of $617,873.89 is hereby accepted, and the City Manager is
authorized to execute a contract for the City with said Contractor for the construction of
such project.
SECTION 2 It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
