AN .ORDINANCE REGULATING SOLICITORS, PEDDLERS, HAWKERS,
ITINERANT MERCHANTS OR TRANSIENT VENDORS OF YMCHANDISE
IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND DECLARING IT TO
BE A NUISANCE FOR THOSE ENGAGING IN SUCH PURSUITS TO GO
IN OR UPON PRIVATE RESIDENCES WITHIN THE CITY OF WICHITA.
FALLS, TEXAS, WITHOUT HAVING BEEN REQUESTED OR INVITED
TO DO SO, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SOLICITING ORDERS OR THE
SALE OF GOODS OR MERCHANDISE; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE
VIOLATION HEREOF, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWI TH .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BDARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the practice of going in and upon private resic,8
in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, by solicitors, peddlers, hawker t
merchants or transient vendors of merchandise not having been r
vited so to do by the owner or owners, occupant or occupants q$t,'to
residences for the purpose of soliciting orders, or the � r-
chandise, is declared to be a nuisance and punishable €.a, w"C44, as a
misdemeanor.
SECTION 2. Be it further ordained that any pew violating the
provisions of this ordinance shall upon the conviction thereof be fined not
more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars.
SECTION 3. Be it further ordained that the provisions of this
ordinance shall not apply to the sale or soliciting of order for sale of milk,
dairy products, vegetables, poultry, eggs and other farm and garden produce so
far as the sale of the commodities herein named is now authorized by law.
SECTION 4. Be it further ordained that all ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith are herebyjepealed.
