SECTION 1. That Section 4-707 (427) of the Codification of Ordinances
of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, 1941 edition adopted by Ordinance No. 1315
passed and approved on January 6, 1941, as amended by Oxdinancesl�,o. 1377, 1462
and 1533, be and the same is hereby amended so as to read hereafter as follows,
to -wit:
"Section 4-707. All public dances shall be discontinued and
all public dance halls shall be closed from 1:00 o'clock A.IT. to
7:30 O'clock p.1. on each day except Sundays; all public dances
shall be discontinued and all public dance halls shall be closed
from 1:00 o'clock A.f . Sunday to 7:30 P.M. on the Tonday following."
SECTION 2. The fact that the present closing time of dance halls
within the city limits of Wichita Palls conflicts TTith the closing time of
dance halls in competition therewith that are situated outside the city limits,
and tree fact teat it is desira,Dle to close said dance halls on Sunday nights at
the same time to protect the public engaMed i_n such business creates an emergency
and this ordinance is passed as an emergency measure to take effect immediately
upon its passage, approval and publication/as provided by law.
