RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AN UPDATE TO THE TENANT
RENOVATION PLAN SUBMITTED BY THE ARTS COUNCIL FOR
PROPOSED RENOVATIONS TO THE FORMER KEMP PUBLIC
LIBRARY BUILDING; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, on October 8, 1998, the City Council authorized the Mayor to
execute a fifty (50) year with the Arts Council, Wichita Falls Area, Inc. (Tenant) for the
former Kemp Public Library; and
WHEREAS, on October 19, 1999, the City Council approved a five- phased
Tenant Renovation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Arts Council desires to continue the momentum of the project
and proceed with the remaining phases to the renovation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The plans, dated April 5, 2001 and signed by Michael O. Maloney,
submitted by the Arts Council, Wichita Falls Area, Inc. to the Building Inspection
Division are hereby approved as the Tenant Renovation Plan.
SECTION 2. The Tenant shall not substantially alter the plans during the course
of construction without the prior consent of the City Council. The plans shall be subject
to the normal plan review process of the City and all construction activities shall comply
with applicable local, state and /or federal codes or regulations.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at
which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
