C ty of Wichita F.,lls is regaired to take immediate, steps to prohibit and restrict
the use of water for non -essential uses and to enforce conservation measures which

SECT^Q7N 1. That for the nurnose of this ordinance the City of ",,iichita
,falls is divided into three (3) zonesfor restricting water usane, such zones being
as follows:
(1) ZCl`�E 6161E - That area north of the `,T_ch ..ta galley Railroad
tracks and west of 3`ook Street;
(2) : C` iE TuR? - Th; .t area south of the ':,;icy; to 7"alley Rilroad
tracl_:s and west of l`olliday Street;
(3) ZQ' lla '_C [ '.ZE -The balance of the area of the Citv of
',Tic_ ita alls, being that portion of the City east of Kook Street and :north of the
'Tichita Valley Railroad tracks, or east o:t' i oll..ida.y Street and. south o:" the i, ich�ta
`galley -._;aLlroad tracks.
(That attached hereto is a map clesignating the three zones
above described to snow with more particularity the areas included in each zone.)
jECTIGN 2. That the use and withdrawal of tinter from the Cit-r of
Wichita Falls water supply system for the following purposes is hereby prohibited,
except as set out in Section 3 hereof:
(1) The s.-rinkling or watering of trees, sh.rtirbbenr, or
gra s thro :�;h the use o:� a hose or othercrise; provided, ho�rever th-�t nurseries
shall be allowed to use a minimum count of .rater to '_keep their present stock of
shrubbery, plants and trees alive.
(2) The washing of autonobi..les, u trcks, railroad cars, or
any other type of equipment; provided however that service stations, car dealers
and fleet owners shall be allowed 7,JENITY THOUSAM (20,000) gallons of water per rvnth
for all purposes and providing further, that they riiai.ntain and use automatic cut-off
nozzles when cars or trucks are being washed.
(3) The washing of filling station aprons or floors and
interiors of buildings, trucks, or railroad cars; provided however that the fire
marshal may permit the reasonable use of water for the washing of filling station
aprons and floors essential to public safety and the prevention of fire hazards.
(4) The wasting; of any water through defective plumbing;
de fecti-�%e pi-ambing being define d as nituming that has been perm '..tted to remain out
Of' repair, such as leaking water closets, surface leaks, underground leaks, defective
faucets or tans.
(5) Evaporative cooling systeas capable of moving more than
1800 cubic feet of air per rd-nute mut be equ-ipped with recirculation pumps. Re-
frit�;erated or mechanical coolinn systems must be equipped ,nth recirculation pumps
and such systems shall not require make up water at a rate exceeding 5; of the
recirculation rate. It is further provided that all air conditioners producing
1800 cubic feet of air per minute, and smaller, of the evaporative type, and
without p,.mps, shall be fed by a :rater inlet of not more than 1/8 inch opening.
(6) The use of water in fountains, ornamental or otherwise,
swii�:ning pools unless recirculated, wading pools, ;golf cou-ses, miniature Wolf
courses, or anir recreational rounds, except as herein provided.

inclusive in t:at it shall cover every person, firm or corporation using, water
from the city of Wichita rills supnl;r s_rstem, whether the _p icula.r individual
has a contract for water service with the pity of 17 chit Falls or ?)ot.
Any use of dater for the purposes or in the ;Wanner
prohibited in this section shall be deemed to be a waste of water and any person,
firm, or corporation violating any provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed
guilty 0` such offense and siiall be punishable as hereinafter provided.

are hereby rWade:

(3) Persons residing in ZO'..E till-, E whooe property is an
:ven number by street designation shall have the privilege of watering on I_onday
and Friday of each week between the :lours of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and between
the 'hours of 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on said days. Persons residing in such zone
whose property is an odd number 6-1 street designation may water between the hours
of 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and between the hou_'sof 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on
Tuesday and Saturday of each week.
(4) Churches, schools, tourist courts, public buildings,
parks, football and base ball fields, may each elect to water any day of the week
between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., bitt ma;y* water any ,given area on only
one day per week, with no watering whatsoever on Sunday, providing however t&t
watering in the cemetery nay be between the hours of. 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on

(5) Persons residing- in any zone may wash a private motor

SECTICK 4. `hat each and every police officer of the City of Nichita
Fails, shall, in connection. i,ri_tl his duties imncsed by law, diligently enforce the
nrovisions of this ordinance.
Ci:1. 5. That the provisions of this ordinance shall apply to users
of water Ion the City of ','i_chita Falls eater supoly system unich are outide the
C`it,;r of `.J'ichita Falls and the t_�rovivi.ons of this Ordinance may be enzbrced by,
the discontinuance of the :ratCr service in the event of a v elation of said
teris and 7rovis i Cris of this Ordinance.
The Yanicipali_ties to whom the Ci_t- of T;ichita ':'ails sells
water from its supply system or reservoirs shall likewise comply with the terms
and nrovi_sions of this ordinance in their respective jurisdiction in order to
