Ordinance No. _21-2015__
Ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute all documents
necessary to apply for and accept up to $5.5 million in Federal
Aviation Administration grants for the reconstruction of Taxiway C at
Wichita Falls Regional Airport and appropriating said funds to the
FAA Airport Improvement Grant 2015 Fund
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has assumed responsibility from Sheppard
Air Force Base in its lease agreement for the repair and maintenance of leased
property at Wichita Falls Regional Airport; and,
WHEREAS, the City has identified the need for the reconstruction of its taxiway
infrastructure; and,
WHEREAS, possible funding for the reconstruction of Taxiway C may be
available from the Federal Aviation Administration; and ,
WHEREAS, the City desires to apply for up to $5.5 million from the Federal
Aviation Administration for assistance to reconstruct Taxiway C; and,
WHEREAS, the City will pay 10% in local match requireme nts, up to an amount
of $550,000, using bond proceeds, passenger facility charge revenue, and airport
operating income to meet this obligation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to
pursue, apply for, and accept the aforementioned Federal Aviation Administration grant
for the reconstruction of Taxiway C at Wichita Falls Regional Airport, and said funds
are hereby appropriated to the FAA Airport Improvement Project Grant 201 5 Fund.
