Resolution adopting the Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage Rates for job
classifications utilized on all Public Works construction contracts for
the City of Wichita Falls
WHEREAS, Texas Government Code Chapter 2258.022 requires the City to
determine the local prevailing wage rates for public works contracts the City awards;
and,
WHEREAS, the City must conduct a survey or use the prevailing wages under
the Davis-Bacon Act; and,
WHEREAS, the City finds that it is in the public interest t o adopt the prevailing
wage rates under the Davis-Bacon Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. In accordance with Texas Government Code Chapter 2258, the City Council
hereby adopts the prevai ling wage rates as determined by the United States
Department of Labor in accordance with the Davis -Bacon Act, and subsequent
amendments, as the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for job classifications
utilized on the construction of a Wichita Falls’ public work, including a building,
highway, road, excavation, and repair work or other project development or
improvement, paid for in whole or in part from public funds . The hourly rates for
overtime work and legal holidays shall be one and one -half times the basic Davis-
Bacon hourly wage rate.
2. This resolution supersedes Resolution 147 -95 dated September 5, 1995,
which previously established prevailing wage rates for municipal construction activities
in the City of Wichita Falls.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 3rd day of March, 2015.
