Resolution accepting a proposal from NUCO Controls, LLC for the
purchase and installation of power factor correction equipment at
various City facilities in the amount of $123,464.18, and making
budgetary appropriations of $92,598 a nd $30,867 in the Water/Sewer
and General Funds, respectively
WHEREAS, ONCOR assesses a power factor surcharge on electric accounts
that use power at less than 95% efficiency; and,
WHEREAS, the City has determined that it has 11 facilities that are recei ving
significant power factor surcharges; and ,
WHEREAS, there is equipment that can be installed at these facilities to
eliminate these surcharges; and ,
WHEREAS, the City solicited proposals from manufacturers of such equipment
to determine how quickly the City can begin receiving a return on investment in such
equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the proposal submitted by
NUCO Controls, LLC is in the best interest of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
A proposal from NUCO Controls, LLC for the purchase and installation of power
factor correction equipment at various City facilities in the amount of $123,464.18 is
hereby accepted, and budgetary appropriations of $92,598 and $30,867 in the
Water/Sewer and General Funds, respectively , are hereby approved.
