Moved by Alderman Patton that J. L. Lea's sewer rent
at 724 Ohio Street be reduced to ;19.75 on account of no notice
having been received by him.
Motion seconded by Alderman Young and carried.
Moved by Alderman Clifford that the hearing to property
owners on Eighth Street, Van Buren Street and Denver Street be contin-
ued until October 22nd 1923.
Motion seconded`by Alderman Shepherd and carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 463
ORDINANCE LEVYING ASSESSMENT FOR PART OF THE COST OF IMP-
ROVING A PORTION OF TENTH STREET IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
FIXING A CHARGE AND LIEN AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY AND THE OWNERS THERE-
OF, PROVIDING FOR THE , COLLECTION OF SUCH 'ASSESS12NTS, AND FOR THE ISS-
UANCE OF ASSIGNABLE CERTIFICATES, AND DECLARING AN EMRGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Patton that Ordinance No.463 be passed
on its first readin6.7.
Motion seconded by Alderman quid carried by the
following vote:-
Yeas: Shepherd, Stayton, Patton, Young, Clifford,
Nayes: None.
ORDINANCE NO. 464
ORDINANCE LEVYING ASSESS,1ENT FOR PART OF THE COST OF
IMPROVING A PORTION OF GARFIELD STREET IN THE CITY OF WICHITA BALLS,
TEXAS, FIXING A CHARGE AND LIEN AGAINST ABUTTING PROPERTY AND THE OWN-
ERS THEREOF, PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF SUCH ASSESSMENTS, AND FOR
THE ISSUAPJCE OF ASSIGNADLE CERTIFICATES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Moved by Alderman Shepherd that Ordinance No. 464 be
passed on its first reading.
Motion seconded by Alderman Young and carried by the
followin6 vote: -

Nayes: None.

Moved by Alderman Young that Stanley Herring be permitted
to construct an& operate a cold drink and lunch stand at-1401 Travis Street
under the usual provisions to -wit:-
That the said Stanley Herring, his successors, admin-
istrators, assigns and legal representatives shall hold the-City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, harmless from any damages that may -arise from-the operation
of said Cold drink and lunch stand, at 1401 Travis Street, and that they
shall cease to operate said cold drink and lunch stand when so ordered by
the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stayton, twat public hearing on Travis
Street Paving between 9th and 10th Streets be continued until September 24th
1923.
Motion seconded by Alderman Young and carried.
