met in regular called session at 10 a. !ii. on'the above date with the follow-
ing present:-

Motion seconded by alderman Young and carried by the fol-
lowing vote: -

4HE =LEAS, the City o Wichita malls, for Bowe time past has
attempted to secure refund of transportation to .7:es paid to the U.S.Government
on account of shipments of sewer pipe, for recent sewer extensions.
'VITIE SEAS, the Coumissioner of Internal = evenue has advised
that said claims for refund have been rejected,
"WHEREAS, it is our information that other municipalities
have received shipments under similar conditions and were exempted from this
tax,
T11,:,EEORE, BE IT RESOL)IED BY THE BOARD Oil ALDER 1EN OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, that the i,iayor 'we authorized to enter into con-
tract with Parfet and 1dartlew, local tax specialists, to secure their ser-
vices in the Uity's behalf and ;aake another attempt to have this tax refunded,
provided, however, that said firm of Parfet and 1Jartletr, agree to handle the
case on a contingent fee basis, said fee not to exceed 1/4 of the amount of
tax that may be refunded. In tiie event said firm-:will accept these terms the
Mayor is hereby authorized to issue a Power of Attorney authorizing said Parfet
and Martlew to represent the City of 4iichita Fails, Texas, before the Bureau
of Internal Revenue.
