MEREAS, by resolution passed and adopted on the 2nd day Of July 1923 it was ordered that Tenth Street from its intersection with the East Curb line of Hays St. north to its intersection with the East curb line of Garfield street, be improved in the manner set forth in the said P resolution; and thereafter contract was let and _entered into with the ains Paving Company for the making and construction of such improvements; and thereafter the City Engineer filed roll or statement showing thereon the various parcels of p ro)erty abutting upon said street, with the names of the owners thereof as far as known, and showing the amounts to be assessed against each parcel, and showing other matters and things; and such state- ment having been examined and approved, it was by resolution ordered that hearing be :given to all owners of abutting property and to all others int- erested and a time and place was fixed therefor; and at said time and place, to -wit, the 16th day of July 1923, at 7:30 o'clock, P. R E S O L U T I O N RESOLUTION CLOSING HEARING `lITH REF' -RENCE TO ID'IPROV -111 1TS AND ASSESUD TS THEREFOR ON A PORTION OF GARFI'ELD STREET IN THE CITY OF GTICHITA FALLS, TEXAS. `JHEREAS, by resolution passed and adopted on the 2nd day of July 1923 it was ordered that Garfield Street from its intersection with the Center line of Tenth Street to its intersection with the North Curb line of Avenue "E" be improved in the manner set forth in the sa'd resolution; and thereafter contract was let and entered into with the Plains Paving Company for the making and construction of such improvements; and thereafter the City Engineer filed roll or statement showing thereon the various parcels of property abutting upon said street, with the names of the owners thereof, as far as known, and showing the mounts to be assessed against each parcel, and showing other matters and things; and such statement i,aving been examined and approved, it was by resolution ordered that hearing be given to all owners of abutting property and to all others interested and a time and place was fixed therefor; and at said time and place, to -wit, the 16th day of July 1923, at 7:30 P. ia.,o' clock in the Council Chamber in the jtorgan Building in the City of ,'lichita Falls, Texas, said hearing was duly had and held, notice of the time and place thereof and of such hearing having been theretofore given in due and proper manner and for the length of time as was proper; and at said hearing the fallowing protests were made, to -wit; E. Cotner, re- tiring City Treasurer, from April 1st, to July 31st, 1923 and find that all receipts and disbursements have been properly accounted for. -,'e are attaching herewith schedules showing the balances in the funds at the date iar. Ellis took charge of this offfee and r -ish to advise that the total cash taken over by him on August 1st, 1923 amounted to X372,250.34, of which 511103,613.76 was water and general government and p268,636.58 was interest -and sinking funds. This amount agrees with the bank balances at July 31st, 1923. The Securities were examined and as the Treasurers bond does not cover same was transferred to the Security National Bank to the order of the Board of Aldermen for safe keeping. A copy of the banks re- ceipt for them is attached herewith and a copy has been mailed to I:Ir. R.E. Shepherd, Finance Commissioner. There -is a balance of T�290.39 in the Refunding No. 1, Bond sinking fund vh ich we recommend be transferred to the General Fund by resolution of your Honorable body.
