Noble for the construction of a 46 X 80 brick store building on Lot 17, Block 70A Highland Heights Addition be continued until 7 :30 P. u1. February 18. 1924. February 18th 1924, in the Basement of the i.iorgan Buil- ding. Motion seconded by Alder pan Stayton and carried. Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the pet tions for paving Broad Street from 11th to 15th, and 15th Street from -'road to Grace Streets be received and filed for future action. Motion seconded by Alderman Clifford and carried. Moved by Alderman Young that the plan submitted by J. Caruthers for the opening of Beverly Drive be approved provi d that the grading and paving of streets, sidewalks and alleys, and the lay- ing of gas, water and sewer mains be done under the supervision of the City Engineer and all terms of ordinance No.468 be strictly complied wi th . Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried. -;� 0 # ## ## # # # # ## # ## # ## �- ## Moved by Alderman Shepherd that the petition of Citizens pro- testing against the construction of oil storage tanks by the Woody Oil Company on the north side of the City be received and referred to the City Attorney with instructions to stop said construction until a per- mit has been secured. Motion seconded by Alderman Young and carried. Moved by Alderman Clifford that the Llunicipal finance Comm- ittee of the Chamber of Commerce be invited to investiezate the differ- ent departments of the City with a view of increasing the efficiency of the departments and saving money to the tax payers. Motion seconded by Alderman Patton and carried. Moved by Alderman Clifford that the Mayor be authorized to sign a quit -claim deed to Lots 1, 2, and 3, T. H. Collins sub- division of Block 251, Original Townsite in order to clear the title of an old tax deed. Motion seconded by alderman Shepherd and carried. Moved by alderman Shepherd that the sale of 'an ,old chandler car to Mrs. Pat Johnson be ratified and approved. ' Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried. Moved by alderman Shepherd that the Mayor be authorized to sign a contract with the Brown - Crammer Company for the purchase of $50,000. worth of 5J% Street Improvement refunding warrants.
