its first reading.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 447 PASSED AND APPROVED
ON THE 31ST DAY OF JULY A. D. 1923, REGULATING TRAVELLING AND TRAFFIC
ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS REGULATING PARKING
OF CARS, PROVIDING FOR SAFETY ZONES, PRESCRIBING CERTAIN RULES AND REG-
ULATIONS CONTROLLING AND GOVERNING TRAFFIC OF PEDESTRIANS AND VEHICLES
IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS PRESCRIBING A PENALTY.

The hearing with reference to the operation of a grocery store
at 2106- Burnett Street, was called and as no protests were heard the fol-
lowing motion was put in order.
Moved by Alderman Stayton that the hearing be closed.
Motion seconded by Alderman Young and carried.
Moved by Alderman Young that A. E. Stiles be permitted to
install and operate a grocery store at 2106 Burnett Street, under the
usual provisions to-wit:
That the said A. E. Stiles, his successors, administsrtLtors,
assigns and legal representatives shall hold the City of Wichita Falls
harmless from any damages that may arise from the operation of said
grocery store, and that they shall cease to operate said grocery store
-�-ahen so ordered by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, 2
Texas.
Motion seconded by Aldermanand carried.
Moved by Alderman Young that the contract for walks to be con-
structed in Lamar Park be awarded to L. E. Whitham & Compar*, he being
the lovie st bidder for this work.
Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried.
Moved by Alderman Stayton that the agreement Commissioner
Patton had with R. M. Estes, whereby if paid R. M. Estes will move all
his hogs out of the city at once and clean up his slaughter house, he
will be allowed to operate said slaughter house until April 1st, 1924,
be ratified and approved.
Motion seconded by Alderman Young and carried.
Moved b Alderman Young that C. C. McDonald be employed to
argue the "ready to serve" gas case before the Railroad Commission in
Austin on January 21, 1924, for a consideration of $200.000
Motion seconded by Alderman Stayton and carried.
The Board of Aldermen then adjourned.
