I. Call to Order and Introductions
Stephen Garner called the meeting to order and all members and staff introduced
themselves.
II. Approval of Minutes
No minutes were provided for approval.
III. Heroes on the Water
The committee heard from Jim Dolan, the founder of Heroes on the Water (HOW), to
discuss his suggestions for the "wounded warrior inlet" previously discussed as part of our
project. HOW was started seven years ago to help wounded service members recover
from battlefield injuries. Mr. Dolan provided information on the history of and programs
offered by this organization and gave the committee some ideas from similar projects.
Currently the organization has 37 chapters. Wichita Falls is a target community because of
our military population. Tom Lang feels a partnership with HOW could help ensure our
project meets the needs of all disabled, not just veterans. Clayton Lane made a motion to
enter into a partnership with HOW. Larry Scott seconded. Motion passed.

Next week; Steve Garner and Tone Lang will be speaking to the Young Professionals
group. Larry Scott suggested they try to arrange -a presentation to the realtor and
hornebuilders groups.

Pat Hoffman reported that the City Council approved acquiring Ian around Lake Wichita
at near appraised
