The financial report for Nov 2014 was presented by Stan Horton. The balance is $ 1,522.56. Accident Statistics: WFPD advised the total crashes for Oct were 259 of which 55 were injury accidents including 1 fatalities. There have been 12 fatalities for 2014. PAGE 1 City Traffic Report Mark Beauchamp discussed the following: 1. Bicycle friendly community project is still in the works. 2. Moving into maintenance time of year. This happens three times a year. 3. Sign change out on southwest part of town. Traffic control evaluation. 4. Second section of LED lights on Sheppard Access Rd. Installation starting Soon. 5. Barnett and Kell control change out. This will help with the flow of heavier traffic. 6. Looking into Bike Share Lanes. State Traffic Report T.J Harrell advised Lthe Overlay Project has been completed. 2. Joint project with city on Southwest and McNeil. Committee Reports Nomination committee of: Dennis Marquardt was formed to make nominations for new officers in the November meeting. Motion was made by Laney Oliver and to keep in place existing officers. A second was made. All were in favor. Motion Passed. Unfinished Business: 1. 03 -14: Three Foot Traffic Ordinance - this would make drivers of motor vehicles give a bicycle /pedestrian a safe clearance when passing. This is a widely adopted practice for other cities. Mark Beauchamp presented a copy of an ordinance from another city that will be forwarded to the City Attorney for suggested approval by council. Mark also advised 24 states have passed this as law. Assistant City Attorney Peter Scott advised the city's legal department looked over the information presented by the TSC. To date, the Legal Department and the TSC have not reached an agreement on a document to present to City Council. Still Pending New Business: 1. 01 -15: Adopting City Ordinance banning all motorized vehicles from city parks also to include schools and any city owned public property. Items of Discussion: Citizen Richard Stearnes : Advised he has no parking at his home on Polk and Ave G. His home is on Polk St. He has no driveway and has to park in the street. This street was made a one way and he has no access to his home and is having to park on Ave G at different hours in the day. His concern is his vehicle is not viewable from his residence and is subject to vandalism or theft. He is requesting the street be changed back to its original status and the one way is moved one block down. Mark Beauchamp addressed this issue in the month of October. He advised no changes to this area were an option at this time. PAGE 2 There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 2:30 P.M.
