Resolution authorizing award of bid for the purchase of one ¾-ton, 4-
door crew cab pickup from Pruitt Ford in the amount of $22,027.75;
and award of bid for the purchase of four ¾-ton regular cab pickups
from the local bidder Wichita Falls Ford Lincoln, Inc. in the amount
of $83,527.20
WHEREAS, the City advertised and requested bids for the purchase of five
¾-ton pickups; and,
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the bid from the Pruitt Ford, low bidder for
crew cab pickup, in the amount of $22,027.75 and find s it acceptable; and,
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the bid from the low bidder for regular cab
pickups, Caldwell Country, in the amount of $82,352.00 ; and the local bidder, Wichita
Falls Ford Lincoln, Inc. in the amount of $83,527.20 , and finds both bids acceptable;
and,
WHEREAS, Local Government Code Section §271.9051 …..allows a
municipality to award a bid that is within five percent of the lowest bid pr ice received to
the bidder whose principal place of business is in the municipality if the governing body
of the municipality determines, in writing, that the local bidder offers the municipality the
best combination of contract price and additional econo mic development opportunities
for the municipality created by the contract award, including the employment of
residents of the municipality and increased tax revenues to the municipality….. .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase:
One ¾ -ton crew cab pickup from the low bidder Pruitt Ford in the amount of
$22,027.75;
and,
Four ¾-ton regular cab pickups from the local bidder, Wichita Falls Ford Lincoln,
Inc. in the amount of $83,527.20.
