Resolution authorizing award of bid for the purchase of two ¾ - ton,
diesel pickups from the local bidder, Wichita Falls Ford Lincoln, Inc.,
in the amount of $57,923.56
WHEREAS, the City advertised and requested bids for th e purchase of two ¾-
ton diesel pickups; and,
WHEREAS, the City has reviewed the bid from the low bidder for diesel pickups,
Caldwell Country, in the amount of $57,354 .00; and the local bidder, Wichita Falls Ford
Lincoln, Inc., in the amount of $57,923.56 , and find both acceptable; and,
WHEREAS, Local Government Code Section §271.9051 …..allows a
municipality to award a bid that is within five percent of the lowest bid price received to
the bidder whose principal place of business is in the municipality i f the governing body
of the municipality determines, in writing, that the local bidder offers the municipality the
best combination of contract price and additional economic development opportuniti es
for the municipality created by the contract award, incl uding the employment of
residents of the municipality and increased tax revenues to the municipality….. .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to purchase:
Two ¾-ton diesel pickups from the local bidder, Wichita Falls Ford Lincoln, Inc.,
in the amount of $57,923.56 .
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 16th day of December, 2014.
