Resolution authorizing the purchase of nine in-car video systems
and six Cyclevision motorcycle video systems fro m L3
Communication Mobile-Vision, Inc., in the amount of $70,800.00
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Local Government Code §252.022
exempts items purchased through inter -local cooperative purchasing contracts from the
State’s competitive bidding requirements as follows:
This chapter does not apply to expenditure for. . . (12) personal property sold:. . under an
interlocal contract for cooperative purchasing administered by a regional planning
commission established under Chapter 391.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls passed a resolution
approving the participation in such cooperative agr eements; and
WHEREAS, Sections 252.022 (a) 7 (A) of the Texas Local Government provides
exemption from competitive bidding of certain purchases, specifically for “items that are
available from only one source because of patents, copyrights, secret process es, or
natural monopolies; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase nine in-car digital video
systems for police patrol vehicles; and six Cyclevision systems for the BMW
motorcycles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Authorization is granted to purchase nine in-car video systems and six
Cyclevision motorcycle video systems from L3 Communication Mobile-Vision, Inc., in
the amount of $70,800.00.
