ORDINANCE NO. 56-2014
Ordinance amending Chapter 22, Sec. 22-27 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Wichita Falls, (P) Table 2902.1 Minimum Number of Required
Plumbing Fixtures and Section (P) 2902.2 Separate Facilities; And
Providing For Codification
WHEREAS, the Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals has recommended
amendment to the 2009 International Building Code, as amended; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that amendment of these codes will protect public
health and sanitation and fire safety of residents of the City of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
1. Section 22-27 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 22-27. Changes, deletions and amendments.
The following portions of the 2009 International Building Code , published by the International
Code Council, are amended to read as follows:
(P) TABLE 2902.1 (footnote f)
f. Drinking fountains are not required for an occupant load of 1525 or fewer.
(P) 2902.2 Separate facilities. Where plumbing fixtures are required, separate
facilities shall be provided for each sex.
Exemptions:
2. Separate facilities shall not be required in structures or ten ant spaces with a total
occupant load, including both employees and customers, of 1525 or less.
2. The City Council intends the provisions of this ordinance to become a part of the Code
of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls, and sections of this or dinance may be renumbered
or relettered to accomplish such intention.
