An Ordinance of the City of Wichita Falls Prescribing
Rates and Charges for Local Exchange Telephone Service Furnished
by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company
WHEREAS, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company has appeared
before the City Council and has shown that the rates and charges for
local exchange telephone service heretofore prescribed have proved
insufficient to afford said Company a reasonable return on the value of
its property devoted to furnishing local exchange telephone service in
the Wichita Falls telephone exchange,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS:
Section 1: Southwestern Bell Telephone Company shall place in
effect the following schedule of rates on its first billing date after
this ordinance becomes effective in accordance with the Charter of the City:

(a) Includes 100 outgoing local messages, others 50.
(b) The rate for a flat rate PBX trunk is one and one-half times
the rate for one party business flat rate service.
(c) The rate for flat rate PBX trunk is one and one-half times
the rate for one party residence flat rate service.
Rates and charges for miscellaneous services and equipment shall
remain as heretofore established except as superseded by those
rates and charges contained in the Schedule of Miscellaneous
Rates and Charges attached hereto and made a part hereof.
Section 2: Nothing in this ordinance contained shall be
construed now or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any manner, the
right and power of the city under the law to regulate the rates and
charges of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
