AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FUR CLASSIFICATION OF All FIRETiEN UNDER
CIVIL SERVICE E RPIL)YED BY ME CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, DECLARING AN EAERGENCY,
AND REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BDAPD OF ALDMIEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FATTC, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following positions in the Fire Department
of the City of Wichita Falls are classified under Civil Service in compliance
with Section 8 of Article 1269m of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, as
amended, and they are hereby set out as follows:
(1) Recruit Fireman
(2) Fireman
(3) Driver
(4) Lieutenant
(5) Captain
(6) Assistant Fire Chief
(7) Positions at Large - Positions under Civil Service
to be filled by appointment, rather than promotion,
the same being:
(a) Operator - in Communications
SECTION 2. No other person employed by the City of Wichita Falls
may be classified as holding a position under Civil Service with the Fire
Department.
SECTION 3. All prior ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION ) . The fact that the City of Wichita Falls is currently
making a change in its communications system creates an emergency and this
ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage.
