ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CLASSIFICATION OF ALL POLICEiN CINDER
CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYED BY THE CITY OF 'WICHITA FALLS, REPEALING ALL PRIOR
ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH AND DECTARI VTG AN E1 .GENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED EY THE B)ARD OF AIJLIJ1EN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following positions in the Police Department
are classified under Civil Service in compliance with Section 8 of Article 1269m
of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended, and they are hereby set out
as follows:
(1) Recruit Policeman
(2) Patrolman
(3) Detective
(4) Sergeant
(5) Captain
(6) Assistant Chief
(7) Positions at Large - Positions under Civil Service
to be filled by appointment, rather than promotion,
the same being:
(a) Identification Technician
SECTION 2. No other person employed by the City of Wichita Falls
may be classified as holding a position under Civil Service with the Police
Department.
SECTION 3. All prior ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION Li.. The fact that the City of Wichita. Falls is currently
making a change in its communications system creates an emergency and this
ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage.
