SECTION 1. Definitions;
(a) The word 'person' as herein used shall include
the singular and plural and shall also mean and include any person, farm
or coal oration, association, club, co- partnership or society or any other
organization.
SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corpora-
tion, or any employee or agent thereof to regularly advertise any product
or service directly or indirectly upon any public street or sidewalk within
the fire limits of the City of Wichita Falls by personally soliciting pedes-
trians upon the streets or sidewalks or exhibiting sample of merchandise to
be sold or to be produced to said pedestrians or stopping said pedestrians
for the purpose of soliciting or exhibiting their products or services to be
performed or articles to be produced.
�EC'IION 3. Nothing in this ordinance shall prohibit the sale of
newspapers or the sale or giving away of religious literature.
SECTION 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of this
ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not to exceed
Two Hundred (y)200.00) Dollars.
SECTION 5. The fact that persons are regularly using the public
streets and sidewalks for the purpose of personally soliciting customers for
employers and themselves and that such regular personal solicitation consti-
tutes a traffic hazard and seriously inconveniences the general public an the
use of public streets and sidewalks, constitutes an emergency and requires the
this ordinance be passed as an emergency measure to become effective immediately.
