AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CLASSIFICATION OF ALL
POLICEMEN UNDER CIVIL SERVICE EkIP LOPED BY THE CITY
OF WICHITA, FALLS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND
,REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HERE-
WITH:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the following positions in the Police
Department of the City of Wichita Falls are classified under
Civil Service in compliance with Section. 8 of Article 1239m,
Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended, and they are hereby
set out as follows: Unclassified Recruit Patrolman
Classification I Patrolman Plumber of Positions: 51
Classification. II Detective Number of Positions: 9
Sergeant Number of Positions: 3
Classification .III Li-eutenant Number of Positions: 3
Classification IV Captain Number of Positions: 3
Classification V Assistant
Chief Number of Positions: 1
Position at Large: Under Civil Service to be filled by
appointment rather than promotion, the
same being:
Identification Officer
Number of Positions: 1
SECTION Z. No other person employed by the City of Wichita
Falls may be classified as holding a position under Civil Service
with the Police Department.
SECTION 3. All prior ordinances inconsistent herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. The fact that the City of Wichita Falls is
currently adopting a new budget requiring the above classifications
in its Civil Service, and in order to protect the public welfare,
the fact that the present classification ordinance is now obsolete
