Ord 1698 10/11/1954ORDINANCE NO. 16'79 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING, ASSESSINCT AND FIXING THE TAX RATE FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE i.IIJNICIPAL GOVERNIVIENT OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE INTEREST AND SINKING FUND FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1954 -55, AND .APPORTIONING EACH LEVY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE AND PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESS - MENT OF ALL ANW.A.L OCCUPATIONAL TAXES PROVIDED BY LAI41. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF A.LDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there be assessed, levied, and collected on all taxable property in the City of Wichita Falls for the year 1955, the following, to -wit: `x,.60 on each 1100.00 assessed valuation of all to -kable property in the city for'the maintenance and support of the General Government, including current expenses and general. 'Improvement' of said city and its property known as the General Fund. .30 on' each 11000.00 assessed valuation of all taxable property in the city for the purpose of laying out. open - ing, and constructing, repairing and improving the roads, bridges, and streets within the limitsof said city, known as the Street Fund. 1.20 on each 3100.00 assessed valuation of all taxable property in the city for current expenses in maintaining, improving, and beautifying public parks and maintaining and improving public playgrounds, known as the Park Fund. .05 on each 1100.00 assessed valuation of all taxable property for current expenses for the purpose of establishing, D roviding, maintaining, and operating within said city, a public library or libraries, known as the Library Fund. a.45 on each ;>100.00 assessed valuation of all tamable property for the purpose of paying interest and principal for the redemption of bonds heretofore legally issued by said city, known as the Interest and Sinking Fund. 60 z 20 .$'05 S . 45 Ea 1.60 RE for J. or for f or for CAPITULATION OF RATE General Fund Street Fund Park Fund Library Fund Interest and Sinking Fund SECTION 2. There is also levied an Occupation Tax on every person, firm or corporation pursuing any of the occupations named in the Charter, Ordinances, and the General Laws of Texas, which shall be paid in advance, said occupation license to be one - half of the State License for similar occupations. 'Total levy for 1955 - 11.60 for 1100-00 valuation of all taxable property in the city. SECTION 3. The immediate need to con-tinue the normal operation8 of the business of the City creates, an emergency and in order to protect the public health, welfare and to preserve the peace, this ordinance shall take effect immediately, and R is so ordained.
