ORDINANCE NUMBER
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION V, ARTICLE 10,
PARAGRAPH (a) ; AMENDING SECTION X I I ', ARTICLE 10; PARA-
GRAPH (a); AND AMENDING SECTION XIX, ARTICLE 45, OF
ORDINANCE NUMBER 1688, SO THAT SAID SECTIONS S .LL• j

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE Cl OF
WICHITA FALLS:
SECTION I. That Section V of Article 10, Paragraph (a)
of Ord nance No, 1688 is hereby amended by adding to para-
graph (a), the following sentence:
(a),..,, No pressure test will be required on lawn
sprinkler system beyond the master shut -off for each
sprinklered area.
SECTION II. That Section XII of ;article 10, Paragraph
(a) of or din Number 1688 is hereby amended so that the
same shall hereafter read as follows:
(a) Every sprinkler system shall be provided with a
master shut -gff valve to control the entire sprinkler sys-
tem and a 45 seat swing check valve shall be installed
immediately ahead of the master shut -off. Each system,
or part thereof, shall be provided with a means of drain-
age and a back -flow preventor, or preventors, shall be
installed not less than 6 inches above the grade in a
protected area. In no case shall a check valve be in-
stalled so as to cause a closed system in the house
piping. New galvanized steel, copper, plastic, or
rubber piping may be used for sprinkler systems beyond
the back -flow preventor. All steel, copper and plastic
piping shall be buried not less than 12 inches under-
ground. Rubber sprinkler piping may be buried 6 inches
underground
SECTION III. That Section XIX, Article 45, of Ordinance
Number 1688 is hereby amended so that the same shall hereafter
read' as follows:
(a) The minimum size and maximum length of piping for
small heaters and appliances in dwellings and similar oc-
cupancies shall be determined by the following table:

In addition to the above, the minimum pipe sizes for
certain gas fired .appliances shall be as follows:
Kitchen Range, 3/4 inch
Room or Space Heater, 1/2 inch
Circulating Water Heater, .L%2 inch
Instantaneous Water Heater, 3/4 inch.
