Ord 1759 6/25/1956 e Y`4 NO. 7 b�z AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE KIND AND RATES OF FARES TO BE CHARGED BY WICHITA CITY LINE,,. , INC. ON ALL OF ITS SCHEDULES WITHIN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS-? AND ITS SUBURBS; PROVIDING FOR CHANGE OF SCHEDULES; PROVIDING FOR ADEQUATE SERVICE; PROVIDING FOR ZONE FARES; AND RETAINING ALL OF THE POWERS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS., TEXAS, OVER THE SAID UTILITY, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: I. From and after dune ll,. 1956, except as hereinafter stated, Wichita City Lines,, -Inc. Wichita Falls., Texas, shall be permitted and is hereby authorized to charge the follow— ing fares on all schedules then in effect and schedules to be hereinafter approved by the Board of Aldermen of' the City of Wichita Falls, Texas : KINDS OF FARE: RATE OF FARE: A, Regular Cash Fare, 15� B, Student Fare, School children between the ages of Valid only when pur- 12 years and 17 years in actual at— chased in a single lot tendance of any elementary school, high good for 20 rides at school,; or any school or schools with the rate of 7Y2* per similar educational facilities that ride at a total cost are situated within the corporate of $14500 limits of the City of Wichita Falls,;, Texas., between the hours of 7 :00 ame and 4:30 p,m, during the regular school term of any given weeks Monday through Friday inclusive, shall be entitled to purchase ticket good for 20 rides for $1,50 which is at the rate of 7Y2t per ride, upon presentation of a written certificate of the principal of the school which said student attends dur— ing the school months, showing thit such student is not more than 17 years of age, is in regular attendance at said school, and is within the grades provided. Said passenger, without said ticket, shall pay the regular fare, C& Children's Fare, 5� Children between the ages of 5 and 12 years,,,, during the regular bus operat— ing hours, operated within the cor— porate limits of Wichita Falls, Texas, and its suburbs& D, Child`ts Fare, Free All children under five years of age when attended by a fare paying pas- senger above such age.;, and not occupy- ing a seat to the exclusion of fare paying passengers. E� Transfers, 1$ All fare paying passengers shall pay for a transfer at the rate of IIA Hereafter* if upon approval by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls:. Texas,, Wichita City Lines,,, Inc#., extends its service to areas beyond the end of its - present routes,, .it shall be entitled to 'charge an additional fare of .10� upon entering or leaving such zones# III, Wichita City Lines, Inc, shall pay to the City of Wichita Falls., Texas,,, quarterly, a rental charge of 1% of the gross passenger revenue received by it for trans— porting passengers for hire over its designated routes within the corporate limits of the City -of Wichita Falls, Texas.*, its suburbs., and Sheppard Air Force Baset -Wichita Falls'.. Texas such charge being made for the use of the streets.,,: alleys ,: and public ways ' of said city by said Wichita City Lines Inc, now engaging in such transporta— tion business.... and a tax of 1% of such gross passenger revenue is hereby levied upon said Wichita City Lines,,, Inc,, and its successors to become effective upon the pas- sage of this ordinance, IV. All ordinances and parts of ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls. Texas., in conflict with this ordinance or any part thereof are hereby expressly repealedp h e p a �. o l u t t If any part of this ordinance shall be held to be void for any reason.,,, the other parts hereof shall remain and be in full force and effect, The fact that Wichita City Lines t Inc. is in urgent need of fare adjustment:, and because it is essential to the City of Wichita Falls.., Texas,,, and Wichita City Lines, Inc, that they adjust and settle the disagreement with reference to the Sheppard Air Force Base operation, creates an emergency,,. and requires the suspension of the rule re- quiting the reading of ordinances on three several days.. and' said rule is hereby suspended,c and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval PASSED AND APPROVED THIS LIAT DAY OF JUNE:, 1956# IT ATTEST , ` MAYOR .
