AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 1349 AND SECTION 12
OF ORDINANCE NO. 1539, LEVYING A RENTAL CHARGE ON THE GROSS
INCOME RECEIVED FOR TRANSPORTING" PASSENGERS WITHIN THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , TO BE PAID BY PERSONS, TRUSTEES,
FIRMS, ASSOCIATIONS, " AND CORPORATIONS AND PARTICULARLY WICHITA
CITY LINES, INC. ENGAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF TRANSPORTING
PASSENGERS FOR HIRE ON DESIGNATED ROUTES WITHIN THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS :
That Ordinance No. 1349 levying against each and every
person, trustee, firm, association , and corporation and,
Section 12 of Ordinance No. 1539 levying against Wichita
City Lines , Inc. engaging and engaged in the business of
transporting passengers for hire over designated routes
within the City of Wichita Falls , Texas , within the cor-
porate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, and its suburbs ,
a rental charge of 2% of the gross income received from
such business , such charge being made for the use of the
streets , alleys , and public ways of said city by such con—
cerns engaging in such transportation business is hereby
amended to provide for the levying of a gross receipts
tax in the sum of $1.00 for each $1 ,000. 00 of gross pas—
senger revenue collected by said concerns and particularly
byby the Wichita City Lines , Inc.., and its successors to
become effective on duly 1, 1956.
