Ord 1756 5/14/1956 ORDINANCE NUMBER AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, BY ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS IN AN AREA SOUTHWEST OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, IN WICHITA COUNTY, TEXAS; ALL OF WHICH ARE FULLY DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. (Sections A-3 and C- 1 ,University Park Addtn. ) BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF f&IICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the following described tracts of land , located in Wichita County, Texas, and that the corporate limits' be extended to include said tracts of land in Wichita County, Texas, the same being more particularly described as follows : Tract No. 1. BEGINNING at- a point in the East line of Fairway Road, 30 feet East and 265 feet North of the Southeast corner of Block Fifteen ( 15 ) of Denton County School Land League One, A-58, Wichita County, Texas; THENCE East 420 feet to a point; THENCE South 420 Of East 230 feet to a point; THENCE North 430 feet to a point; THENCE North 350 Of East 860 feet to a point in the Southwest line of Phillips Drive, said point being 160 feet North 520- 14r West from the Northwest corner of Lot Twelve ( 12 ) , Block Eleven ( 11 ) of University Park Subdivision,Section A--2; THENCE North 520 14t West along the Southwest line of Phillips Drive 420 feet to the most Easterly corner of Lot Eight (8 ) , Block Eight (8 ) of Univer- sity Park Subdivision, Section A- 1, being also the point of intersection of the Southwest line of Phil- lips Drive with the Northwest line of Wynnwood Drive; THENCE South 480 23f West along the Southeast line of said Lot Eight (8) for a distance of 106 feet to the most southerly corner of same; THENCE North 550 441 West 125. 5 feet to the most Westerly corner of said Lot Eight (8 ); THENCE North 840 40t West along the South lines of zf Lots seven (7 ) , six (6 ) and five (5 ) for a dis- tance of 230. 8 feet to the Southwest corner of said Lot Five (5 ) ; THENCE West along the South lines' of Lots four (4 ) , three (3 ), two (2 ) and one ( 1 ), of said Block eight (8) , at 379 feet pass the Southwest corner of said Lot One ( 1 ) , and at 389 feet, a point for corner in the East line of Fairway Road ; THENCE South along the East line of Fairway Road 1090 feet, to the place of beginning and containing 23. 5 acres , more or less, Tract No. Z. BEGINNING at a point 272 feet North and 30 feet East of the Southwest corner of Block Twenty-two (22 ) Denton County School Land; THENCE North 950 feet to the Southwest corner of Section C of University Park Subdivision as formerly dedicated; THENCE East along the South line of the dedication limit of said Section C, 1279 feet to the Southeast corner of said dedication; THENCE South 1200 feet, more or less , to a point in the North right-of-way line of State Farm Road No. 369; THENCE West along said right-of-way line 1004 feet, more or less; -- 1 - THENCE North 220 feety - THENCE West 209. 7 fedt, to the place of be- ginning and containing 33. 5 acres of land , more or less. SECTION 2. In conformity with Section 3a of the .Amended Charter of the City of �tichitd Falls, Texas , this ordinance is, on the 23d day of April, A. D. 1956, intro- duced , and the City Clerk is directed to publish said ordinance one time in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas , and seven' days thereafter this ordinance may be finally acted upon. SECTION 3. The fact that many people reside in the territory described in this ordinance who are unable to take advantage of city conveniences, fire and police protection, sanitary and health measures, creates an emergency, and it Is hereby declared that the foregoing ordinance is an emer- gency'measure on the grounds of urgent public need for peace, health and safety of property, and this ordinance shall go in effect immediately upon its passage and approval. This ordinance having been introduced on the 23d day of April , A. D. 1956, and having been published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of'lalichita Falls , Texas , w to--wit: The Wichita FalJ - Record News; one time, to-wit, on the d� day of , A.
