Ord 1890 2/22/1960ORDINANCE N0, 1890 AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE PLUMBING ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS AND DEFINING ITS RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION I. There is hereby created a Board of Advisors for the City of Wichita Falls which shall be known as the Plumbing Advisory Board. The Plumbing Advisory Board shall consist of eight (8) members, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, and shall serve for a term of one (1) year each. One member of said Board shall be a Mech- anical Engineer, one member of said Board shall be an employee of the Lone Star Gas Company, two members of said Board shall be licensed master plumbers, one member of said Board shall be a licensed journeyman plumber, one member of said Board shall be an appliance dealer, as defined by the Plumbing Ordinance of the City of Wichita Falls, one member shall be a wholesale mate- rial dealer and one member shall be a general building contractor. The Secretary of said Board shall be the PlumbinS Inspector for the City of Wichita Falls. All members of said Board shall be residents of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and shall serve without pay. roti SECTION II. The Plumbing Advisory Board shall investigate and make re- commendations to the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls, as to modifications in the Plumbing Code of the City of Wichita Falls, and use of new materials that come onto the mar- ket. The Plumbing Advisory Board shall have authority to grant modifications or variances to the Plumbing Code of the City of Wichita Falls for any specific case. In varying the applications of any provision of the Plumbing Code or in modifying an order of the Plumbing Inspector not less than four (4) affirmative votes shall be required. Any such decision shall be in writing and shall specify in what manner such variation or modification shall be made and the conditions upon which it shall be made and the reasons thereof, one of which reasons must be to prevent un- due hardship. SECTION III. The Plumbing Advisory Board shall promulgate its own rules of procedure and shall meet at such times, as it may set, and shall be subject to called meetings by either the Secretary of said Board or the Chairman of said Board.
