AN CRDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING PORTIONS OF
POLK STREET AND AVENUE "S "I IN THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS,.TEXAS, AS HEREIN DESCRIBED; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:.
SECTION 1. That that portion of Polk Street and
Avenue 11Si4, described as follows:
BEING situated in the Cyrus Eakman Survey,
Abstract 450, in the. City of Wichita Falls,
Wichita County, Texas, more fully described as
follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the South
line of -Kell Boulevard with the West line of'Polk
Street, said point being 90 feet from the center:
line of the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad track
measured at right angles thereto;
THENCE S. 00 09= E. 506.6 feet along the West
line of Polk Street to.the South line of Avenue S;
THENCE N. 890 34t E. 620 feet along the South
line of Avenue S to the East end of '::d- ',1Au01�ue S;
THENCE Northerly 60 feet, more or less, to
the North line of Avenue S;
THENCE S. 890 341 W. 560 feet along the North
line of Avenue S to the East line of Polk Street;
THENCE N. 00 091 W. 453.5 feet to the South
line of Kell Boulevard, said point being 80 feet
from th.e. center line of the Fort Worth and Denver
Railroad track measured at right angles thereto;
THENCE Southwester ly 66 feet, more or less,
to the place of beginning and containing 1.473
acres, more or less;
be and the same is hereby closed and abandoned to public
use as a street.
SECTION 2. The fact that the City of Wichita. Falls
does not need any easements in, on,
over or across any portion of said streets, as hereinabove
described, such right to use the same is hereby relinquished.
S I ECTION 3. The fact that the City of Wichita Falls
does not desire to use the above described
property as a public street, nor does it care to improve
the same, creates an emergency and this ordinance shall be

effective immediately upon its passage.
