Ord 1791 10/28/1957RD I NNS E NUMBER N ORDINANCE AMENDING ECT I ONS ONE (1) AND TWO ( ) OF ORDINANCE _,x 445, AS SAME HAS H E E'T` F P BEEN AMENDIED BY ORDINANCES IIZI., 1132 AIM SS p SUCH ORDINANCE R 445 All water bills shall be due monthly upon the date stamped upon bills rendered and must be paid at the office of the Water Department 10 days after said time and if not paid within said time, the water shall be shut off from such premises and shall not be turned on again until said bill has been paid, including an additional charge of $1.00 for disconnecting and turning on again. MUNICIPAL CONSUMPTION. All water furnished to the various departments of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, by the Water Department shall be measured by meter and all water used by the City Departments shall. be charged to their respective accounts and paid for monthly by the respective departments to the Water Department at the rate of S .ZU per one thousand (1,000) jallons of water, such amount of water to be used during the current month. All water furnished the departments of the City shall be paid as follows: 1. For all water furnished for street sprinkling, street cleaning, sweeping, and flushing to the Street Department. 2. For all water furnished to Public Parks, Cemetery, Play Grounds, etc., to the Park Department. 3. For all water furnished to the incinerator, flushing sewers, or sprinkling dumping grounds, to the Sanitary Department. 4. For all water furnished for any municipal building or for the use of any of the Departments of the City Government not specified in this ordinance the same shall be charged to such building or department service account and paid for from such funds as may be available, but in the event no building or de- partmental fund is available such account shall be paid for from the general fund or other funds as directed by the Board of Aldermen. CHURCHES, SCHOOLS AND - CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS. For all charitable institutions, inclining, but not limited to churches and schools, a monthly charge for water shall be paid for on the basis of $ .2U per thousand (1,000) gallons of water used during the current month, with a minimum charge of ,1.50 per month to be charged each such charitable institution user. SECTION 2. Provided that the schedule of rates set forth above in.Section 7 -1001 to be charged shall not apply to persons, firms and corporations residing beyond the city limits of the City of Wichita Falls, or having and maintaining places of business outside the city limits of said city,'but..that such persons shall pay a rate equivalent to the rate above prescribed, plus 50% of the rate so prescribed in said Section.' Provided that the minimum charge shall be $2.25 per month for persons, firms or corporations residing outside the city limits. SECTION 3. Because of the fact that the present water rates are inadequate and because of the urgent necessity that the water works and water supply be supplemented without further delay creates an emergency/ and requires that this ordinance shall take effect immedi- ately upon and after-its passage, and it is accordingly so ordained, and the rates herein prescribed shall become effective November 1, 1957.
