AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 445,
ALSO KNOWN AS SECTIONS 7 -1001 AND 7- 1001.1 OF TITLE 7, CHAPTER 10
OF THE 1941 CODIFICATION OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS
AS THE SAME HAS BEEN HERETOFORE AMENDED BY ORDINANCES 1121, 1132,
1381, 1791, 1804 AND 1883 WHICH ORDINANCE AND ITS AMENDMENTS PRO-
VIDED FOR THE RULES, REGULATIONS AND RATES FOR THE OPERATION AND
MANAGEMENT OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS WATER DEPARTMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
THAT Section I., of Ordinance No. 445, as amended, also known
as Section 7 -1001 of Title 7, Chapter 10 of the 1941 Codification
of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Section II.
of Ordinance No. 445 also known as Section 7- 1001.1 of the said
Title and Chapter of Codification of Ordinances be and the same
are hereby amended so as to read as follows, to wit:
Section 7 -1001:
The following rates are hereby established and shall be here-
after collected by the Water Department of the City of Wichita
Falls, Texas, from and after May 1, 1960.
The following water rates shall apply to all water users, re-
sidental, commercial and industrial with the exception that ser-
vice outside the corporate limits shall be two (2) times the rate
charged inside the corporate limits based upon the following com-
putation:
The minimum monthly bill for all metered water service shall
be $1.50 for which amount each customer shall be allowed 3,000
gallons of water.
For larger consumption the rate shall be as follows, to wit:
The first 5,000 gallons of water @50� per thousand
Next 45,000 gallons of water @35� per thousand
Next 450,000 gallons of water @3V per thousand
Next 500,000 gallons of water @25¢ per thousand
Next 1,000,000 gallons of water @22� per thousand
Next 5,000,000 gallons of water @21V per thousand
Next 5,000,000 gallons of water @20� per thousand
Excess of 12,000,000 gallons of water @19V per thousand
Minimum charge 3,000
Schools, Churches &
Charitable institutions @22¢ per thousand
All services for water, sewer and sanitation shall be billed
together.
All watery sewer and sanitation accounts shall be due monthly
and must be paid within 15 days from the post office cancellation
date of statement. If not paid by this date, a 10% penalty will
be added. The customer shall then have 15 days in which to pay
the water, sewer and sanitation accounts, with penalty. At the
expiration of this date, water, sewer and sanitation services will
be discontinued and will be restored only with the full payment
of the account, plus an additional charge of $1.00 for disconnect-
ing and restoring service fee.
That all utility customers shall put up a deposit as hereto-
fore provided. No interest payment shall accumulate on deposits
for these utility services.
MUNICIPAL CONSUMPTION. All water furnished to tho various
departments of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, by the Water
Department shall be measured by meter and all water used by the

City Departments shall be charged to their respective accounts
andpaid for monthly by the respective departments to the Water
Department at the rate of $ .22 per one thousand (1,000) gallons
of water, such amount of water to be used during the current
= nth.
All water furnished the departments of the City shall be
paid as follows:
1. For all water furnished for street sprinkling, street
cleaning, sweeping and flushing to the Street Department.
2. For all water furnished to Public Parks, Cemetery, Play
grounds, et., to the Park Department.
3. For all water furnished to the incinerator, flushing sew-
ers, or sprinkling dumping grounds, to the Sanitation Department.
4. For all water furnished for any municipal building or for
the use of any Departments of the City Government not specified in
this ordinance the same shall be charged to such building or de-
partment service account and paid for from such funds as may be
available, but in the event no building or department fund is ava-
ilable such account shall be paid for from the general fund or
other funds as directed by the Board of Aldermen.
CHURCHES, SCHOOLS AND CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS. For all char-
itable institutions, including, but not limited to churches and
schools, a monthly charge for water shall be paid for on the basis
of $ .22 per thousand (1,000) gallons of water used during the
current month, with a minimum charge of $1.50 per month to be
charged such charitable institution user.
SECTION II.
Provided that the schedule of rates set forth above in sec-
tion 7 -1001 to be charged shall not apply to persons, firms, and
corporations residing beyond the City Limits of the City of Wichita
Falls, or having and maintaining places of business outside the
City Limits of said city, but that such persons shall pay twice
the rate above prescribed. Provided that the minimum charge shall
be $3.00 per month for persons, firms or corporations residing
outside the city limits.
