Ord 1895 3/7/1960 ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, BY ANNEXING THE OXLEY DRIVE AREA AND THE RANCHO VISTA AREA WHICH ARE ADJACENT TO THE WEST TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WHICH ARE DESCRI - BED IN THIS ORDINANCE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION I. That the following traces of land located in Wichita County, Texas, be and the same is hereby ordered to be annexed and to be - included within the corporate limits of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and that the corporate limits be extended -so as to include said tracts of land- in Wichita County, Texas , the same being more particularly described as follows : TRACT 1. (Oxley Drive Area) Beginning at the intersection of the South line of the Roberts Subdivision with the present city limit line, said point being 660 feet East of Sisk Road; Thence East to the Southeast corner of the said Roberts Subdivision; Thence North to a point in the present city limit line, said point being 660 feet Southeasterly from the centerline of U. S. Highway 82 and 277 measured at right anglos thereto; Thence along the present city limit line South 66 degrees and 34 minutes West to a point 660 feet East of the center line of Sisk Road; Thence continuing along the city limit line South to the South line of the Roberts Subdivision and the place of beginning and containing 6.5 acres of land more or less . TRACT IIe (Rancho Vista Area) Beginning at the Northwest corner of Block 11, Denton County School Land, L.aague 2, said point being in the center line of Sisk Road; Thence East along the North line of said Block 11 a dis- tance of 1200 feet; Thence North to the North right-of-way lane of State High- way FM 369; Thence Northwesterly along the North line of said Highway FM 369 approximately 450 feet to a point which is 800 feet West of the center Line of the said Sisk Road measured at right angles thereto; Thence North to a point 340 feet from the center line of said Highway FM 369 measured on a radial line thereto; Thence in a Northwesterly direction parallel to and 340 feet from the center line of the said Highway FM 369 a distance of approximately 860 feet to a point in the present city limit line; Thence West along the present city limit line to a point 660 feet West of the center line of the said Sisk Road; Thence South to the North right-of-way line of Carson Trail in Unit One of Rancho Vista Place Subdivision, which sub- division is recorded in Volume 7, Page 91 of the Plat Records of Wichita County, said point being in the present city limit line; Thence following the present city limit line Easterly along the North right-of-way line of said Carson Trail to a point in the West right--of-way line of said Highway FM 369; Thence South 19 degrees and 45 minutes East along said West right-of-way line 298. 7 feet to the intersection of said right-of-way line with the center line of Sisk Road; Thence South along the Center line of said Sisk Road to the place of beginning and containing 26 acres of land more or less . y ANNEXATION OF THE OXLEY DRIVE AREA AND TIDE RANCHO VISTA AREA SECTION IT. In conformity with Section 3-A of the Amended Charter of the amity of Wichita Falls, Texas, this ordinance is on the day of Plarch, 1960, introduced and the City Clerk is directed Q publish said ordinance one time in a newspaper of general circula- tion published in the City of Wichita Falls; Texas, and seven (7 ) days thereafter this ordinance may be finally acted upon. SECTION III. The fact that many people reside in the territory descri- bed in this ordinance creates an emergency and it is hereby declar- ed that the foregoing ordinance is an emergency measure on the grounds of urgent public need for the protection of the general welfare, and this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
