..N ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, BY ANNEXING THE STATE HOSPITAL AREA WHICH
IS ADJACENT TO THE SOUTH TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, WHICH LAND IS DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE, AND DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That the following tract of land located
Texas, be and the same is hereby ordered to be ai
included within the corporate limits of the City
Texas, and that the corporate limits be extended
said tract of land in Wichita County, Texas, the
particularly described as follows:

of Wichita Falls,
so as to include
same being more
Beginning at a point in the present city limit line, said
point being at the intersection of the East line of Block 1, Kemp
and Newby Subdivision of the Cherokee County School Lands and the
South right -of -way line of State Highway FM 369;
Thence Westerly along the present city limit line to the
most Southerly corner of lot b, Block 1, Sikes Estates Addition,
Section A; said point being in the West right -of -way line of the
City Acqueduct;
Thence in a Southwesterly direction aloniT the West right -
of -way line of said City Acqueduct, being the present city limit
line, to a point in the East line of Block 36, League 1, Denton
County School Land, A -58;
Thence continuing along the present city limit line South
with the East line produced of the said Block 36 to a point on
the North side of the Lake Wichita Dam at the Lake Wichita Spill-
way elevation;
Thence Southeasterly along the North side of Lake Wichita
on a contour line at spillway elevation to a westerly prolongation
of the South line of a 6.5 acre tract described in Volume 95,
Page 192, of the Wichita County Deed Records;
Thence East with the South line of said 6.5 acre tract to
the East line of the Day Land and Cattle Company Survey, A -613,
produced;
Thence North along the East line of the said Day Land and
Cattle Survey to the South line produced of Block 1, Kemp and
Newby Subdivision of the Cherokee County School Lands;
Thence East along the South line of said Block 1 to the
West right -of -way line of Texas State Highway No. 79;
Thence Northeasterly along the West right -of -way line of
said Highway 79 to the East line of said Block 1;
Thence North along the East line of said Block 1 to the
place of beginning and containing 1008 acres of land more or less.
SECTION II.
In conformity with Section 3 -A of the i',.,aended Chart
the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this ordinance is on the
day of March, 1960, introduced and the City Clerk is directA to
publish said ordinance one time in a newspaper of general circu-
lation published in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and seven
(7) days thereafter this ordinance may be finally acted upon.
SECTION III.
The fact that many people reside in the territory describ-
ed in this ordinance creates an emergency and it is hereby declared
that the foregoing ordinance is an emergency measure on the grounds
of urgent public need for the protection of the general welfare,
and this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its pass-
age and approval.
