O _,N ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHIT,, FALLS, TEXAS, BY ANNEXING SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE '4HICH IS ADJACENT TO THE NORTHEAST TERRITORIAL LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, WHICH LAND IS DESCRIBED IN THIS ORDINANCE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION I. That the following tract of land located Texas, be and the same is hereby ordered to be ai included within the corporate limits of the City Texas, and that the corporate limits be extended said tract of land in Wichita County, Texas, the particularly described as follows: in Wichita County, Znexed and to be of Wichita Falls, so as to include same being more Be --inning at a point in the present city limit line, said point being in the East line of the Thomas Curry Survey, A -344, and being 2989 feet South of the Northeast corner of said survey; Thence following the present city limit line West to the East right -of -way line of the Burkburnett Road, also known as U.S. Highway 2 ?7 and 281; Thence continuing along the present city limit line North- westerly and North to the South right -of -way line of the Kell Field Airport entrance road; Thence continuing along the present city limit line East 980 feet; Thence continuing along the present city limit line South 200 feet; Thence continuing along the present city limit line East 687 feet; Thence continuing along the present city limit line North 1517.5 feet; Thence East 4200 feet more or less to the West edge of • North -South Sheppard Air Force Base Taxi and landing runway; Thence South along said runway 8060 feet more or less to • point 2989 feet South of an Easterly projection of the North line of the Thomas T. Curry Survey, A -3449 Thence West to the place of beginning and containing 968 acres of land more or less. SECTION II. In conformity with Section 3 -A of the Amended Charter Qf the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, this ordinance is on the t day of March, 1960, introduced and the City Clerk is direc e o publish said ordinance one time in a newspaper of general circula- tion published in the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, and seven (7) days thereafter this ordinance may be finally acted upon. SECTION III. The fact that many people reside in the territory described in this ordinance creates an emergency and it is hereby declared that the foregoing ordinance is an emergency measure on the grozuidF of urgent public need for the protection of the general welfare, and this ordinance shall go into effect immediately upon its pass- a:-,e and approval. --h -� I This ordinance having been introduced on the day of [�-9 A.
