Ord 1906 4/25/1960r ORDINANCE NO. % � 0 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1347, AS AMENDED, SO AS TO EXEMPT THE APPLICABILITY OF THE GROSS RECEIPTS TAX IN SO FAR AS IT PERTAINS TO SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE. THAT WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 1347, as amended by Ordi- nance No. 1426, the City of Wichita Falls has levied a gross receipts tax of two (2/) per cent upon all companies engaged in the sale of gas in the City of Wichita Falls; and WHEREAS, said gross receipts tax was based upon a rental for the use of streets, alleys and public -ways of said City; and WHEREAS, the area commonly known as Sheppard Air Force Base has been recently annexed to the City Limits of Wichita Falls, Texas; and WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls does not maintain or own the streets, alleys and public ways within said area; and WHEREAS, the gas that is sold the Sheppard Air Force Base does not go through the City gate. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS: SECTION I. All income derived from the sale nf gas within the area cmmmnnly known as Sheppard Air Force Base is hereby excluded and exempt from the application of the gross receipts tax as levied by Ordinance No. 1347, as amTded by Ordinance No. 1426.
