AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1641, THE TRAFFIC CODE,,
BY AMENDING SCHEDULE VIII, SECTION 178, TO ADD HAMILTON BOIXLF,-
VARD FROM T.AFT TO HAMPSTEAD LANE, PIEDMONT STREET FROM KEMP
TO =INGHAM, HARRISON STREET FROM KELL TO HAMPSTEAD LANE,
TAFT STREET FROM KELLL BOULEVARD TO HAMPSTEAD LANE, AND SPEED-
WAY FROM FAIN TO HOLLIDAY ROAD; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That Schedule VIII, Section 178 of Ordinance 1641 is here-
by amended to read as follows;
"Commercial vehicles prohibited from using certain
streets - WEen sins are erected giving notice thereof`, no
pe"erso shall operate a commercial vehicle except as provided
under Section 146, upon any of the following streets or parts
of streets:
Kell Boulevard from Kemp to Holliday Road
Hampstead Lane from Kemp Boulevard to H-am+l°ten
Ro- e, ice"
Hamilton Boulevard from Taft to Hampstead Lane
Piedmont Street from Kemp to Ellingham
Harrison Street from Kell to Hampstead Lane
Taft Street from Kell Boulevard to Hampstead
Lane
Speedway from Fain to Holliday Road
SECTION II.
That due to the fact that at the present time a number
of heavy commercial vehicles are daily traveling the above
named streets, thereby causing the pavement and curbing
which was not constructed to handle this type of traffic to
crack and deteriorate, creating axe urgent public need for
the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the prop-
erty of the City of Wichita Falls, so that an emergency is
hereby declared, and upon final passage of this ordinance
the same shall take effect immediately, and it is so Rrdained.
