THAT WHM&AS, on January 5, A. D. 1945, J. S. Bridwell acquired
from J. W. Culbertson and wife, Jeanne L. Culbertson (8.72) acres qft -land in
S.P.R.R. Company Survey No. 1, Abstract 281, lying and being VAthin -the
corporate limits of dichita Falls for the sole purpose of donating the
same to the City of Wichita Falls to become a part of the public park
system, and in furtherance of his desire to make a substantial contribu-
tion to the citizens of Richita Falls, did on January 10, A. U. 1945
convey said land to the city for park purposes, and the deed from J. S.
Bri.Vdel,l, to the City of Wichita Falls, am other provisions includes

That 1, J. S. Bridwell., a citizen of Wichita Falls, Texas for
more than thirty-six (36) years, having in mind the need for better and
more adequate park facilities for the `citizenship of Wichita Falls, Texas,
and for outdoor play grounds and facilities for their children, as well
as picnic grounds for community gatherings, and the fact that the herein-
after described property is situated in a thickly settled part of the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas.that has no such facilities, and because
the former owners of this property, J. W. Culbertson and wife, June
L. Culbertson, have held the property for many years hoping that object
might be realized, and.for the sole and only consideration that the
City of Wichita Falls, Texas will so develop and improve this property
that it will be both attractive and useful to the citizenship, that it
will improve and maintain the same as a city park and wi.l.l carry out to
the fullest extent the intents and purposes of this conveyance, and;
- IS, the; gift of the above described tract of land by J. S.
Bridwell to the City -of Wichita, Falls, Texas for park purposes will be
of great value to the citizens of Wichita Falls., present and future„ and
is a much needed addition to the park system of said city, and vdll fur -
nish to.the citizens of Wichita Falls, and children -in particular, in
the section of the city where said tract-of land is located a place for
wholesome and healthful recreation, and,
Y4HiTVEAS,0 the Board of Aldermen of the City of Wichita Falls are
greatful to J. S. Bridwell .for his gift to the city of the above des -
cribed tract of land for park purposes,`and desires to express both grati-
tude and thanks of the Board of" Aldermen for itself and all of the citizens
of Wichita Falls., Texas,,, for said gift.
NOWO THMFOIRE, BE IT RESOUM BY THE BOARD OF ALDERM OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TES•.
SECTION I
That the Hoard of Aldermen does hereby accept the above described
tract of land from the said J. S. Bridwel,l and agrees that the provisions
in the Reed of Conveyance to the City by J. S. Bridwell will be fully
complied with.
SECTION TI
That the Hoard of Aldermen for the entire citizenship of Wichita
Falls and themselves does hereby express to the said J. S. Bridwell
their sincere thanks and gratitude for his timely gift and contri.buti.on
of the above described tract of land to become a part of the parr system
of said city.
SECTION III
That the City Clerk shall deliver the original of this Resolution
to J. S. Bridwell and that a. copy of the same be spread upon the mutes
in the office of the City Clerk.
