Res Railroad certificates 3/13/1944RESOLUTION
That whereas; R. C. Bowen, trustee, the owner of the'
Train Fields Transportation Company operating from Sheppard Field
to "its station on Ohio Street in the City of Ylichita " Fallls, and
claims to hold a certificate of convenience and necessity granted
by the Railroad Commission of the State of Texas for such operation,
and;
Whereas, it has "come t6 the knowledge of the Board of"Alder-
men of the City of Wichita Falls that the' 'said R." C. Bowen, trustee,
has contracted to sell the Twin Fields Transportation Company to
Messers Moore and Brown and has pending before the"Railroad Comm -
ission "an application for permission to transfer 'said certificate
of convenience and necessity to the said Moore and Brown, purchasers,
and;
whreas, the City of Wichita Falls contends that the Railroad
ConrUssion of Texas is without jurisdiction to issue a certificate of
convenience and necessity for the operation of busses within the City
Limits of-the City of Wichita ' ' Falls, ' Texas; and opposes" the atte&pt-
ing transfer "of such certificate by the said R. C. Bogen, trustee.
Now therefore be it resolved by the Board of Aldermen, as follows.
That a member of the Legal Department of the City of "Wichita
Falls is hereby authorized "and directed to "proceed to- Austin, Texas,
for the purpose of attending the hearing on the application of R.
C. Bowen, trustee, to'secure permission of the Railroad Commission of
Texas, to transfer said certificate to" Messers Moore and Brown and to
represent "the city at said hearing, and contest the application of
said R. C. Bowen, trustee, at such hearing.
